Are your accountants accounting?
November 10, 2011
| I started to work with a senior team of accounts three months ago. The team were working long hours, they were disorganised and lacked confidence. These unhappy people were at breaking point!! | |||
| We began our journey together by getting to know one another and understanding how these fundamental issues were impacting performance. Steadily we broke the issues down into manageable pieces and developed some simple management tools to remove some of the stress. These tools helped manage the teams, understand the resource requirements and organise the day | ![]() |

| Very quickly things began to improve, the team became more organised, the back logs and work challenges became fewer and most importantly the team started to enjoy work again. The objective of this initiative was to increase staff satisfaction this has happened and attitudes towards work have improved from between 10% – to a massive 40%. However, the other significant benefit to this initiative was that capacity equivalent to two full time people has been identified. This has enabled the accountants to focus on accounting again how powerful is that? For all those wondering what Powerful Management Behaviours is, then it’s what you’ve just read about. Supporting your managers and people to concentrate on the important elements of their role and empowering them to deliver the results you need!!! | |||
